The Australian Microelectronics Centre, through its K12 Robotics Program, fosters technical skills for the future by supporting school students to develop their interest in engineering as a career pathway. The Queensland Minerals and Energy Academy (QMEA) is a joint venture between the Queensland Resources Council (the peak body representing the minerals and energy companies in Queensland) and the Queensland government.
The QMEA has two main aims:
to bring young people from our schools into exciting and rewarding careers in the resources sector; and
to ensure that the resources sector continues to build Queensland’s wealth and security into the future.
There are currently six QMEA schools involved in the Mine Mapping Robotics project. These are:

The QMEA will continue to roll out this and other robotics based curriculum programs to these and other schools through science and information technology.

Trek is a regional robotics competition run by Central Queensland University in Bundaberg each year, consisting of challenges for students using Lego robotics kits.
This weekend is full of fun, innovation, action-packed racing and imagination. Students camp with their teammates, work as a team, and race on a state-wide level, against schools from all over Queensland - plus some from across Australia and overseas! There’s awesome competitions for primary and high school students.
The School of ITEE hosts the annual RoboCup Junior Queensland competition. Schools are invited to attend workshops to learn how to build and program robots and to compete in RoboCup Junior.
FIRST LEGO League (FLL) is a global program created to get children excited about science and technology. A hands-on program for ages 9 to 16, FLL uses Challenges based on real world scientific problems to engage children in research, problem solving, and engineering. The cornerstone of the program is it's Core Values, which emphasize friendly sportsmanship, learning, and community involvement.
The UAV Challenge -
Outback Rescue has been developed to promote UAV's significance to Australia. The UAV Challenge is a joint initiative between the Queensland Government, the Australian Research Centre for Aerospace Automation (ARCAA, a partnership between QUT and CSIRO) and Aviation Development Australia Limited - a prime example of government, industry and research organisations working together.

The Gold Coast Digital Manufacturing Marine Challenge (GCDMMC) is a Workplace Excellence Program funded by the Department of Employment, Economic Development, and Innovation and the Department of Education and Training and fully supported by key local industry organisations.
These resources have been provided by teachers with a genuine interest in the fields of robotics and electronics. These subject units and project plans have already been implemented in science and technology programs within schools. These recourse are designed to encourage technical and engineering skills and can be used as either as part of the curriculum or as an extra curricular activity.
